Amazon is looking for a talented and self-motivated APAC Construction Environmental Program Manager to support our rapidly growing global infrastructure. As AWS continues to expand its physical presence worldwide, we are committed to conducting our construction activities in the most environmentally responsible way possible.

The successful candidate will join our Construction Environmental team, working closely with Construction Managers, General Contractors, and various stakeholders to ensure environmental compliance and sustainable practices across our construction projects globally.

Key job responsibilities

The APAC Construction Environmental Program Manager will develop, implement, and oversee environmental compliance programs across our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction environmental management, strong analytical skills, and a proven ability to lead complex projects across multiple teams and jurisdictions.

  • Partner with Construction Managers and General Contractors to ensure environmental compliance during all phases of construction projects
  • Review and advise on environmental management plans during pre-construction phase
  • Develop and implement environmental monitoring protocols for air quality, water quality, waste management, noise/vibration/dust control, soil/groundwater protection, and habitat/wildlife preservation
  • Conduct environmental inspections and audits using established protocols and guidelines
  • Lead environmental incident investigations and oversee implementation of corrective actions
  • Establish workflows, service level agreements (SLAs), and operational excellence mechanisms for environmental compliance
  • Develop and track environmental compliance metrics and prepare regular reports for stakeholders
  • Coordinate with environmental consultants and regulatory agencies
  • Provide environmental training and awareness programs for construction teams
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and share best practices across projects

This position will require travel to construction sites and may include international travel.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program management or technical project management experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related technical field
  • Experience developing and implementing environmental compliance programs including regulated waste, water, and air regulations in accordance with applicable laws
  • Experience leading large-scale, technical or engineering programs with a proven record of thought leadership, business case development, realizing customer benefits, and successful program completion

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of project management experience
  • Experience in environmental compliance and permitting, waste management, contractual, regulatory, and liability assessments, environmental permit evaluations and applications, EIAs and water discharge requirements
