
Senior ER Specialist, HR (PXT), Customer Services, Germany (EU)
About the role
In Germany (DE), there are two sites supporting Customer Services (CS) and, with your help, we will leverage on HR best practices, standardize strategy and processes, and ensure a great employee experience for our CS population across the DE network.
Amazon is looking for a Senior HR Specialist who will lead the ER strategy for DE CS, in particular the Work Council engagement and partnership strategy. This position requires an individual who has significant WC, human resources (HR) and/or employee relations (ER) and labor relations experience. Strong communication, influencing and interpersonal skills are essential, to enable the individual to work successfully to develop and deliver a robust ER strategy. The position supports the DE CS network and is based in Berlin.
The main priority of this role is to develop and implement the HR strategy in relation to ER and Work Council partnership across DE CS. Standardization of current processes and leveraging of best practices from other regions and internal teams. You will partner with the wider business (Operations, ER, and Legal) to understand planned organizational changes and develop a plan to address those needs. You will be responsible for the analysis, assessment and deployment of new tools, processes, policies and launches which need to be introduced to Work Councils. Your experience dealing with works councils and employee relations is crucial, as you will be the main point of contact responsible for the overall progress and strategy with works council and business stakeholders. You will work closely with senior leadership teams and the wider HR operations team, utilizing your excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills to drive employee engagement and manage change. You will also provide guidance to the DE CS leadership team when developing or implementing projects and to local teams for topics in relation to works council management and other associate representations.
You will be responsible for using quantitative and qualitative data to identify opportunities to improve HR processes, people plans and influence works council related priorities
- Key job responsibilities
- Design, develop and implement the ER strategy in relation to Work Council collaboration and partnership, in conjuction with HR, ER and Legal
- Design, collect and analyze Work Council topics across DE, provide recommendations to the business for future success and process improvement
- Act as main point of contact for DE CS Work Council for all strategic topics
- Analyze, diagnose, design and revise HR and business policy and process in relation to Work Council topics
- Work with internal teams to deliver action plans and drive change as required
- Develop a robust intake process for the business in relation to Work Council topics Develop a mechanism to report key metrics in relation to Work Council Internal job description
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience in HR or Employee Relations, with a strong foundation in labor and employment law
- Comprehensive understanding of employee and labor law in Germany
- In-depth experience engaging and partnering with works councils in Germany
- High proficiency in both German and English, written and spoken
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects across different sites while maintaining effective stakeholder engagement
- Proven influencing and stakeholder management skills
- Collaborative team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion, understanding business priorities and adapting the HR/ER strategy accordingly
- Ability to navigate complex and ambiguous environments, with the agility to reassess and adjust strategy at short notice
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities, with experience interpreting HR metrics to identify root causes and develop short-, medium-, and long-term action plans
- Proven ability to build effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization
- High emotional intelligence with a demonstrated hands-on approach; flexible and adaptable to changing business needs
