We are looking for a strategic Finance leader to own the customer lifecycle, refills, and retention financial strategy for Amazon Pharmacy. This is a high-impact Principal Finance role that will develop the ROI framework for customer acquisition by channel, own key planning inputs for refills, and partner with the Product team to prioritize CX improvements that drive retention. This role requires a strategic thinker who can influence cross-functional leaders, operate in ambiguity, and drive business decisions through rigorous financial analysis and compelling storytelling.
The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor to senior leadership across CXP Product, Growth, and Marketing teams. You will have the opportunity to shape the strategic direction of Amazon Pharmacy's customer lifecycle strategy, quantify the impact of product investments, and drive profitable growth through data-driven insights. Individuals in this role have advancement opportunities to support different businesses and multi-functional teams; and to lead new programs and initiatives.

  • Key job responsibilities
  • Develop and own the ROI framework for customer acquisition by channel, providing strategic recommendations on marketing investment allocation to maximize customer lifetime value
  • Own key planning inputs for refills, partnering with Product and Operations teams to forecast refill rates, identify retention risks and opportunities, and drive accountability to refill goals
  • Partner with the CXP Product team to prioritize CX improvements for refills, building financial models that quantify the expected impact of product offerings and help establish the product roadmap
  • Provide strategic guidance across all pharmacy topline initiatives, influencing business strategy in partnership with senior leadership across CXP, Growth, and Marketing
  • Drive cross-functional alignment on customer lifecycle strategies, steering strategic conversations about where we have risks and opportunities to drive retention and growth
  • Develop and track metrics that provide insight into customer acquisition costs, lifetime value, retention rates, and refill performance
  • Present analysis and strategic recommendations to Amazon Pharmacy Leadership Team and other senior stakeholders
  • Adapt to a rapidly-evolving environment, identifying high-priority work and solving complex problems that affect strategic decisions

A day in the life
The successful candidate has demonstrated the following abilities: they influence senior business owners, support thoughtful decision-making, and adapt to a rapidly-evolving environment. They collaborate with executives and various businesses across Amazon Health Services. A typical day in this role provides an opportunity to innovate, identifying the high-priority work and projects supporting customer lifecycle strategy, building financial models that drive product prioritization decisions, analyzing customer acquisition and retention performance, and solving complex problems that effect strategic decisions. You will work closely with Product, Growth, and Marketing leaders to shape the future of Amazon Pharmacy's customer experience.

About the team
You will be joining a fast-paced Finance team whose mission is to be the trusted strategic advisor to the business, driving profitable growth and scale. This is a highly visible role within the finance team and requires a strong leader and open communicator. You will have a direct impact on our top and bottom line with the ability to deliver improvements for our teams. We are a collaborative team that is constantly learning from each other.

Basic Qualifications

  • 12+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • 7+ years of finance technology, forecast & budgeting, or other finance-focused competency experience
  • Experience with Tableau, Python, SQB, Quicksight, Cognos or or other BI packages
  • Experience working cross-functionally with a wide breadth of stakeholders, users, engineers, and leaders to generate buy-in
  • Experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership
  • 8+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience
  • 8+ years of leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, or CPA
  • Experience in a leadership position managing finance, accounting and operational processes
  • Experience in an industry role
  • Experience managing people
  • Prior roles working in customer lifecycle, subscription, or customer LTV

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
