Senior Manager - Specialist Solutions Architects APJ, Startup WWSO, AWS

Do you want to help define the future of Generative AI technology on AWS as part of the Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) Startups team? Are you passionate about AI infrastructure and helping customers navigate the complexities of training and serving large-scale models?

As a Manager in the WWSO Startups Go-To-Market (GTM) team, you will lead a team of Specialist Solutions Architects and GTM Specialists focused on accelerating adoption of AWS's AI/ML platform services, including training infrastructure, inference optimization, and generative AI application development, with high-priority frontier AI model builders and AI-native startups across APJ.

Your team will define, build, and deploy targeted strategies to drive adoption of AWS technologies including Generative AI, Database, Analytics, and Containers among startup customers spanning multiple industry verticals.

You will:

• Hire and Develop the best storytellers and technologists.

• Work with the most promising Startups.

• Guide your team to find ways to scale tech knowledge via products, programs, and the AWS Field.

• Gather critical Startup feedback to inform our product roadmaps

• Key job responsibilities

• Hire and develop a team of excellent Specialist Solutions Architects who work with Startups in the APJ Region (Australia, New Zealand, Japan, ASEAN, Korea, India).

• Interact at the CxO/VP level, as well as with developers and technical architects, to ease adoption, develop pipeline, secure lighthouse customers, drive top-line revenue, and explore strategic partnerships.

• Become a trusted advisor within customer accounts through Technical Thought Leadership.

• Develop and deploy programs that leverage AWS Field Solution Architect teams, as well as technology and consulting partner channels.

• Collaborate with AWS Product and Technical teams to create solutions that solve customer problems, including reference architectures, patterns, automation, and release plan.

Basic Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive technology implementation experience
• 7+ years of management of technical, enterprise customer facing resources or equivalent experience
• 6+ years of building and leading large teams and working in matrixed operating structures experience
• 7+ years of experience with at least two of the following technology categories: Compute, Containers, Analytics, Database, AI/ML, Storage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Startup background and experience at a VC or PE-backed firm in a Technical Executive capacity.
• Familiarity with open-source software used by Startups and working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies common to Startups.
• Strong data-based storytelling skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with Startup executives and developers.
• Cloud expertise as demonstrated by one or more cloud certifications.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
• Advanced degree highly preferred.
