Senior Solutions Architect, Global Financial Services, AWS

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for experienced and motivated technologists who possess a unique balance of technical depth and strong interpersonal skills. You will partner some of the worlds largest Financial Services companies, AWS Sales and several other AWS teams to craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient cloud & AI architectures that address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services.

In collaboration with sales, you will drive revenue growth across a small set of global customers. As a trusted customer advocate, the solutions architect will help organizations understand best practices around enterprise AI adoption, and how to migrate existing workloads to the cloud. You will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build mindshare and broad use of AWS within enterprise customers.

The ability to connect technology with measurable business value is critical to a solutions architect. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges.

You will regularly take part in deep-dive education and design exercises to create world-class solutions built on AWS.

• Key job responsibilities

• Work with customers to build and migrate applications, software and services on the AWS platform.

• In partnership with the sales team, formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of AWS.

• Educate large financial services companies on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.

• Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS.

• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community.

• Act as a Financial Services thought leader for the adoption of cloud & AI through public speaking and other one-to-many mechanisms.

• Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates.

• Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support.

About the team
The Global Financial Services (GFS) team works with a select group of the world's largest banking, insurance and capital markets AWS customers. Our customers are leading the industry in cloud adoption both through mass migration of existing systems and the adoption of cloud native solutions. What we achieve here paves the way for financial services cloud adoption worldwide.

The solutions architecture team within GFS are deep technical experts. They show our financial services customers the art of the possible and support them to make it real.

Basic Qualifications

• 4+ years of design/implementation/operations/consulting with distributed applications experience
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-tech company, or experience completing complex tasks quickly with little to no guidance and react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround
• Experience working and communicating with multiple stakeholders, C-level executives and cross functional teams or equivalent
• Experience using English communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster seamless interaction with stakeholders at all levels
• Financial Services industry experience, either working for a Financial Services firm, or working with Financial Services customers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with database, data warehouse or data lake solutions
• Working with cloud technology in an enterprise environment.
• Building AI solutions on public cloud platforms.
• Proficiency with programming languages such as Python, Java and data querying tools.
• Cantonese speaker
