products.

As an Embedded Software Engineer at Ring, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary team across multiple product lines and platforms to conceive, architect, and design innovative consumer products. Your ownership can span vertically across application, device framework, platform, network stack, protocols, setup, drivers, operating systems/bare metal, and low-level wireless controllers. Horizontally, you'll have the opportunity to work on and own firmware and platform across all Ring device categories.

The Ring Platform team is responsible for complete device-side software for Ring devices, including delivery and maintenance of an evolving feature-rich, high-performance, low-power, stable platform.

• Key job responsibilities
• Work with cross-functional teams to provide technical solutions for desired user experiences
• Implement high-quality core platform, framework, network stack, and application features
• Apply professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Implement the right metrics and debug tools, and integrate with backend solutions to continuously measure and improve solutions
• Implement power management features; resolve thermal issues and performance bottlenecks in resource-constrained (CPU, memory, power) platforms and devices
• Improve and tailor existing firmware, drivers, stack, and applications; optimize memory footprint and code
• Work with hardware teams to ensure correct operation of hardware
• Support compliance and certification activities
• Evaluate tasks to determine when GenAI tools can add value compared to traditional approaches
• Systematically validate GenAI outputs through fact-checking and cross-referencing before implementation

A day in the life
Your work is hands-on and multi-disciplinary. You'll define and build firmware, platform, and network solutions while working closely with vendors, engineers, and product teams. You'll write documents, carry out experiments, demonstrate proof-of-concepts, build prototypes, and ship sophisticated systems. You'll experiment with GenAI capabilities in structured ways to expand your skills and identify new ways to improve work, combining GenAI assistance with human expertise and judgment to enhance critical thinking.

The minimum base pay salary for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include further pay components such as a sign on payment and the eligibility to participate in a restricted stock unit scheme operated independently by Amazon.com Inc. in USA. Your recruiting team will share final base pay and any applicable total compensation elements depending on skills and requirements.

Company discretionary, supplementary benefits apply subject to further terms, including pension plans, health insurance, life and disability insurance, business travel insurance, Multi Sport card, employee discount code and program (EDC/Extras), commuter benefits where applicable, and the Employee Assistance Program (private and confidential counselling and referral service to support health and well-being).The minimum base pay for this position is PLN 19,166 monthly.

Basic Qualifications

• • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• • 5+ years of software development experience
• • Knowledge of computer architecture and embedded wireless systems
• • Knowledge of network protocols
• • Embedded development experience in C or C++, and familiarity with ARM and RISC-V CPUs
• • Experience with writing low-level drivers, interrupt service routines, and general troubleshooting/debugging of software/hardware interactions
• • Strong GenAI user for day-to-day activities

Preferred Qualifications

• • Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• • Experience with one or more commercial wireless protocols like BLE or Wi Fi
• • Experience in firmware development and testing of low power products
• • Experience with common bus protocols such as SPI, I2C, and UART
• • Experience with software testing (unit, regression, and system testing)
• • Knowledge of embedded Linux and FreeRTOS
• • Comfortable with scripting languages such as Python
• • Experience in building GenAI applications
• • Experience with AWS
• • Knowledge and experience with audio/video streaming protocols
