Accounting BI Intern, Finance Operations Accounting

Amazon's Finance Operations, Accounting & Analysis (FOAA) EMEA team is looking for a motivated Process Automation & Optimization Intern to support our operations across the EMEA region. You will work alongside experienced finance professionals and Service Delivery Managers who will support your development throughout the internship.

• Key job responsibilities
• Support tools development or leverage the AI tool to improve the structure, standardization, optimization, and automation of operational finance processes.
• Assist in the database maintenance and implementation of existing and new functionalities to support finance reporting needs.
• Contribute to navigation and functionality improvements for existing and new frontend reporting tools used by the FOAA EMEA team.
• Analyze data using various internal tools and systems to support financial reporting, data aggregation, and documentation.
• Participate in process improvement projects that contribute to team efficiency and operational excellence.
• Other ad hoc tasks as assigned by the team.

Base pay for this role is 8 EUR per hour.

Basic Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a university program in IT, Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or a related technical field – not in the final/finishing year of studies.
• Basic understanding of accounting concepts or finance operations
• Some experience in data reporting and data aggregation; ability to interpret and present data clearly.
• Quick learner with a strong drive to grow, adapt, and take on new challenges in a fast-paced international environment.
• Focused on automation and optimization; eager to identify process inefficiencies and propose solutions.
• • Currently enrolled in a university program in IT, Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or a related technical field – not in the final/finishing year of studies.
• • Basic understanding of accounting concepts or finance operations
• • Available for a long-term internship placement (not less than one year).
• • Skilled in data reporting and data aggregation; ability to interpret and present data clearly.
• • Quick learner with a strong drive to grow, adapt, and take on new challenges in a fast-paced international environment.
• • Willing to work and learn in an international, multicultural work environment.
• • Not afraid to share ideas and contribute proactively to team discussions.
• • Focused on automation and optimization; eager to identify process inefficiencies and propose solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or coursework in SQL – ability to query databases and work with structured data is a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with data analytics and automation tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, or similar platforms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft, experience with advanced Excel features (pivot tables, macros, Power Query) is a plus.
• Prior internship or project experience in finance, accounting, data analysis, or process improvement.
• Goal-driven, results-oriented, and self-motivated;
