Head of Education Industry, ANZ Public Sector Industry Business Development Team
About the role
Inspire and drive the future of learning, research, and student experiences across Australia and New Zealand. As AWS's Head of Education Industry, you'll shape how universities, schools, and Ed Tech innovators harness cloud and AI to transform outcomes for millions of learners — from the classroom to the research lab.
This is a rare opportunity to combine deep education sector expertise with the world's most comprehensive cloud platform to drive transformation across K-12, higher education, vocational training, and the Ed Tech community of partners — at a time when institutions are reimagining delivery models, embracing AI-powered personalisation, and seeking new paths to sustainability.
Own the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for Education across ANZ, influencing how AWS engages with education ministries, universities, school systems, and Ed Tech providers
Serve as a recognised thought leader and trusted voice — delivering keynotes, publishing white papers, and shaping public policy on personalised learning, research computing, digital campuses, and equitable access
Translate complex education challenges into repeatable, scalable cloud solutions in collaboration with AWS partners and internal teams
Build and nurture Ministerial, Secretary, Vice-Chancellor, and CXO-level relationships — becoming the go-to advisor on cloud-enabled education innovation
Enable the broader AWS village and partner ecosystem with industry expertise, value maps, and joint GTM plans
Grow a network of Ed Techs and Education sector Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), and Systems Integrators (SIs) to deliver repeatable education solutions through the Amazon Partner Network
Key job responsibilities
Thought Leadership: Serve as a super-influencer and evangelist for AWS within the Education sector through keynote speeches, panel discussions, publications, and industry events focused on personalised learning, research innovation, digital campus transformation, and equitable access to education
GTM Strategy Ownership: Lead creation, inspection, and evolution of industry GTM strategy across ANZ for Education with customer-obsessed continuous improvement across K-12, higher education, vocational training, and Ed Tech
Executive Engagement: Build and nurture Ministerial, Secretary, Vice-Chancellor, and CXO-level relationships with education departments, universities, school systems, and industry bodies to inspire innovation and enable long-term transformation across the Education sector
Force Multiplier: Provide differentiated support to account and partner teams through executive briefings, presentations, account planning, and proposal preparation.
Customer Advocacy: Act as feedback conduit between education customers and AWS product/service teams to shape future strategies representing the diverse needs of the ANZ education sector
Business Development: Drive cloud adoption across a sector navigating declining international enrolments, fiscal pressure, and rising expectations for digital-first experiences — addressing shared challenges including legacy student systems, fragmented research data, cyber security risks, and the imperative to do more with less
Partner Development: Grow and scale a network of culturally aligned Ed Tech and other ISVs, and Systems Integrators (SIs) through the Amazon Partner Network (APN) to deliver repeatable education solutions
