To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright, and driven people. As a Sustainability Coordinator of Sustainable Buildings team, you will be responsible for executing and supporting programs that reduce carbon emissions and improve the sustainability of our facilities.
This candidate will join Sustainable Buildings team to support Program Managers and will work with stakeholders across Amazon Japan’s teams including JCFS FDC, RME, EAP, Real Estate, Procurement, Legal and Finance to accelerate sustainability activity such as Sustainable buildings (Circular economy and Renewable energy). Sustainable Buildings team will focus on Fulfillment Centers (FCs), Delivery Stations (DSs) and Sort Centers (SCs), including both new and existing but excluding corporate offices. The role will focus on organizing, analyzing, and sharing various types of information about sustainability with relevant stakeholder. It is including to maintain global sustainability dashboards with global stakeholders. The candidate will partner with new and existing internal business teams to help accelerate action against Amazon’s sustainability goals by analyzing and driving execution opportunities.
- Key job responsibilities
- Support the execution of a comprehensive sustainability activities for Amazon’s buildings
- Manage sustainability tracking data and global dashboards
- Assist in preparing written reports, analyses, findings and recommendations in Amazon’s peculiar six-page narrative structure
- Sustainability tracking data analysis (Renewable Energy and energy consumption data)
- Technical evaluation support for sustainability initiative implementation
- On-site surveys at logistics facilities and post-installation follow-up
A day in the life
In the early months after joining the team, your day will focus on reading documents, summarizing them and sharing them with stakeholders, and organizing them by type and chronological order in shared folders. You can learn about Amazon's sustainability goals and directions through the documents. And also you make the database of all AMAZON buildings and update the data regularly. When sharing documents, you are strongly encouraged to include your own findings, but please keep in mind that facts and opinions should be clearly separated.
After the on boarding period, you will be involved in the implementation of specific sustainability solutions.
Coming to Meguro office for a weekly team meeting is required one designated day per week. WFH is available within company rules on other days of the week.
Occasional one-day business trip.
About the team
Our team consists of three functions: Sustainable Buildings and Renewable Energy. Sustainability is a new field, so in order to achieve AMAZON's goals, we find the gaps with the current situation, seek solutions, and implement them. The solution includes educating people to change the concept of the company and society. Team enjoy to challenge new things every day.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience in Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics and Communication/Instrumentation and Controls
