The Director, PXT COE for AIGC will be based in Seattle, WA and will report to the Vice President of PXT for AIGC. This is a critical leadership role within the AIGC People, e Xperience & Technology (PXT) (PXT=HR) organization responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive, global talent strategy that enables AIGC to attract, develop, and retain the leadership talent needed to fuel continued growth and innovation.
This leader will own and integrate four functional areas: Learning & Development (L&D), Talent Management, Organizational Design & Effectiveness, and a High Velocity Transformation (HVT) team focused on Change Management. The Director will evolve and lead a unified Center of Excellence that drives talent innovation, accelerates leadership readiness, and ensures organizational agility across AIGC's diverse and rapidly evolving business lines. This role requires a strategic, data-driven executive who can operate at the intersection of business strategy and people strategy, translating complex organizational challenges into scalable talent solutions that deliver measurable business impact.
The successful candidate will partner closely with AIGC's senior leadership team, AIGC’s PXT leadership team, HR Business Partners, and Amazon's central PXT Centers of Excellence (including Global Talent Management & Compensation, Central Sciences, Talent Acquisition, and Inclusive Experiences & Technology) to deliver integrated, employee-centric frameworks and mechanisms. This leader will engage frequently with VP and SVP-level executives to gain buy-in on strategic initiatives, drive adoption of enterprise-wide tools and programs, and ensure AIGC's talent practices are both locally relevant and globally aligned.
Key job responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities for the role include:
- Own the unified cadence of global Talent Management mechanisms across AIGC, including talent reviews, succession planning, critical role mapping, executive promotions, and talent movement; define and operationalize the mental models that drive consistent, calibrated talent decisions and identify the top talent across the organization
- Lead and develop a high-performing COE team spanning four functional areas: Learning & Development, Talent Management, Organizational Design & Effectiveness, and High Velocity Transformation (Change Management)
- Ensure Day 1 culture is built into all COE deliverables focusing on operating with speed, innovation, and eliminating bureaucracy
- Design and implement a comprehensive Learning & Development strategy that accelerates time to proficiency, builds leadership capability, and creates targeted upskilling programs that foster an "economy of experiences" across AIGC; leverage L&D as a key lever for top-talent retention and differentiated development of high-potential populations
- Lead Organizational Design and Effectiveness initiatives, advising senior leaders on organizational structure, workforce planning, and how teams work together; maintain a heavy partnership with OD and HR Line leaders to remove barriers, reduce friction, and optimize operating models that support AIGC's growth trajectory
- Build and maintain a robust succession pipeline for leadership and critical roles, including health and activation of succession plans with clear development actions, readiness timelines, and contingency options; spearhead executive talent review processes and strengthen the leadership bench across all AIGC business lines
- Lead the High Velocity Transformation (HVT) team — a dedicated Change Management function that drives organizational change plans, minimizes disruption, boosts adoption and engagement, reduces resistance, and mitigates risks during periods of rapid growth and transformation
- Own and execute a proactive top-talent retention strategy, shifting from reactive saves to early identification of flight risk and targeted engagement interventions; utilize a data-driven approach with strong analytics and people metrics to identify emerging talent trends, forecast workforce needs, and transform complex data into actionable insights for executive stakeholders
- Partner with PXT Centers of Excellence, HR Business Partners, and cross-business talent peers to deliver integrated talent solutions that leverage shared best practices and accelerate execution and scalability
- Communicate big ideas and tactical actions with conviction to executive leaders; display executive presence while frequently engaging with VP and SVP-level leaders across AIGC to gain buy-in and Earn Trust on strategic talent initiatives
Basic Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in Talent Management, Learning & Development, Organizational Design & Effectiveness, Change Management, and/or HR Business Partner roles
- 8+ years leading and developing high-performing teams, with experience building and scaling a Center of Excellence or multi-functional talent organization
- Prior experience driving organizational transformation and change management in high-growth, global technology environments with diverse workforces

The ideal candidate is a strategic, results-oriented talent executive who brings deep expertise across multiple talent disciplines and has a proven track record of building and scaling talent functions in high-growth, technology-driven environments. This leader must be equally comfortable setting long-term vision and diving deep into execution as well as someone who can Think Big about the future of AIGC's talent landscape while delivering practical, measurable solutions today.
This individual will have demonstrated success leading teams through ambiguity and rapid change, with particular strength in standing up new capabilities, integrating disparate talent functions into a cohesive COE, and driving adoption of enterprise-wide talent systems and tools. They will bring a scientific mindset to talent management, forming hypotheses, testing with data, and iterating based on results.
The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor to senior business leaders, with exceptional communication and influencing skills that enable them to build credibility, navigate complex stakeholder environments, and drive alignment across multiple business lines with competing priorities. Background will include:
- PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Master's degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and/or an MBA highly preferred
- Strong communication skills to articulate complex strategies to executive leadership and gain buy-in across multiple business lines
- Well versed in science and the ability to translate research into Talent Management strategies and action
- Experience in organizational design and effectiveness, including workforce planning and site strategy
- Experience standing up and leading change management or transformation functions
- Proven track record in succession planning and executive talent pipeline development
- Experience designing and scaling Learning & Development programs that accelerate leadership readiness
- Development of cutting-edge and forward-thinking Talent Management strategies in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
- Strong data analysis skills and ability to leverage analytics to drive complex business decisions
- Experience working across multiple business lines with varying maturity levels and talent needs

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
