Key job responsibilities
Develop and implement advanced algorithms to automate and optimize Internet Monitoring operations, leveraging Generative AI techniques to enhance network performance and reliability.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, network engineers, scientists, and leadership to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Design, test, and deploy production-grade software systems that integrate Generative AI capabilities, ensuring operational excellence and system reliability.

Effectively utilize AI coding tools to accelerate development workflows, improve code quality, and enhance productivity while maintaining rigorous testing and validation standards.

Research and evaluate emerging AI technologies and methodologies to maintain technical leadership in the field, driving innovation in network monitoring solutions.

Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering excellence through constructive feedback, documentation improvements, and process optimization.

Proactively identify technical challenges, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive resolution to ensure smooth operation of AI-powered monitoring systems.

Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide project updates, gather feedback, and align on strategic objectives that support organizational goals.

Own end-to-end operational excellence for deployed solutions, including monitoring, maintenance, and continuous improvement of production systems.

About the team
The Internet Monitoring team is responsible for the services that monitor the health of Amazon’s traffic to and from the the Internet. We provide the signal for Internet health-detecting and reporting of internet impairments affecting AWS services before customers complain and do so at a high quality and optimized cost. We provide the Internet health signal to operators and service owners for manual traffic engineering & other downstream consumers for Automated Traffic Optimization and Management that drives programmatic traffic engineering. We provide the foundations for internet health and triangulation for AWS customer resources. Our biggest value proposition is to look at a variety of input data sources and come up with a single customer experience score indicating the internet health, associated visualizations, alarms, and fault isolation.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 2+ years of programming using a modern programming language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
