Job Description
Join Allstate’s Insurance Litigation team as a Paralegal Specialist, where your contributions will be essential to supporting complex insurance defense matters and delivering strong legal outcomes for our insureds and internal clients. You’ll play a critical role throughout the litigation life cycle, with a strong emphasis on discovery management and court filings — from responding to complaints and handling extensive written discovery, to supporting arbitration and trial preparation. With hands-on training and mentorship from a collaborative team of litigation paralegals and attorneys, you’ll continue to build specialized expertise in a fast-paced, supportive legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage insurance litigation files from inception through resolution, including trial preparation
- Draft, file, and manage pleadings and high-volume discovery, including interrogatories, document requests, and responses
- Coordinate and track discovery deadlines, compliance, and follow-up
- Order, organize, and maintain claim files, policy documents, correspondence, and related litigation materials
- Assist with expert discovery, including disclosures, record exchanges, and scheduling
- Prepare arbitration and trial materials, including exhibits and jury instructions when applicable
- Perform extensive e-filing in Massachusetts courts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Monitor court calendars, hearing dates, and procedural deadlines to ensure compliance
- Collaborate with attorneys and other paralegals to maintain organized, accurate, and complete litigation files
Education
- Must meet the minimum qualifications for paralegals as defined by Massachusetts law
Minimum Requirements
- Experience as a Paralegal supporting insurance litigation, insurance defense, or civil litigation preferred
- Demonstrated experience handling heavy discovery workloads and frequent e-filing in a fast-paced legal environment preferred
- Strong working knowledge of litigation procedures, including pleadings, discovery, motions, and court filings
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to track multiple deadlines, discovery obligations, and active cases
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing legal documents and correspondence

Compensation
Compensation offered for this role is 28.03 - 42.99 per hour and is based on experience and qualifications.
