Job Summary:
The Technician is a skilled trades professional responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment. This role builds upon foundational knowledge to diagnose and fix a variety of mechanical, electrical, or electronic issues. Working under general supervision, the Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring equipment uptime and production line stability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs scheduled preventative maintenance on a variety of manufacturing equipment.
- Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs equipment breakdowns in a timely manner to minimize production impact.
- Uses schematics, manuals, and diagnostic tools to identify the root cause of equipment failures.
- Documents all maintenance activities and parts usage accurately in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Qualifications:
- Typically requires a High School diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years of experience in a technical support role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- An Associate's degree or technical certification in a relevant field (e.g., Electronics, Mechatronics) is preferred.
- Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
