Dairy Supervisor Position Summary:

The Dairy Supervisor oversees daily dairy department operations to ensure product freshness, inventory accuracy, merchandising standards, and excellent customer service. This role is responsible for department execution, shrink control, and compliance with food safety, sanitation, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service

• Maintain a customer‑focused department that delivers fast, friendly, and helpful service
• Assist customers with product questions and recommendations
• Address customer concerns and escalate issues to store leadership as needed

Department Operations

• Oversee day‑to‑day dairy operations including stocking, rotation, and display maintenance
• Ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety of the sales floor, coolers, backroom, and equipment
• Remove outdated, damaged, or spoiled product to maintain freshness standards

Inventory & Ordering

• Control inventory levels to ensure proper quantity, quality, and freshness of dairy products
• Stock and rotate product according to division directives
• Maintain orderly and in‑stock backroom and department conditions
• Assist with physical inventories as required

Merchandising & Pricing

• Execute promotional and seasonal dairy displays
• Ensure products are correctly priced, signed, and displayed
• Maintain shelf conditions and visual standards

Shrink, Safety & Compliance

• Control shrink and cost through proper handling, rotation, and inventory practices
• Ensure proper temperature control at all times
• Enforce code dating, labeling, and food safety standards
• Follow and enforce all workplace safety and sanitation rules

Receiving & Administrative Duties

• Perform receiving duties including breaking down loads, verifying invoices, inspecting quality, reporting shortages, and stocking product
• Accurately complete daily logs, sales, labor, and other required department paperwork
• Maintain accurate department records

Operational Support

• Implement emergency procedures during equipment or system malfunctions
• Operate electronic ordering devices and department equipment
• Comply with company grooming, dress code, and conduct standards
• Perform other duties as assigned to support grocery operations

Qualifications:

Required

• Previous grocery or dairy department experience
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work in refrigerated environments
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks

Preferred

• Prior lead or supervisory experience
• Familiarity with inventory control, ordering systems, and shrink management

Work Schedule & Environment:

• Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Work performed in temperature‑controlled environments with frequent exposure to refrigerated and freezer conditions
