Main responsibilities:

  • Ensure fast, friendly, and accurate checkout service while championing the company’s customer‑first service philosophy.
  • Direct and supervise all Front End operations, including staffing, scheduling, customer flow, cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance.
  • Manage and oversee cash handling processes, including tills, safe transactions, refunds, check approvals, and cash reconciliation.
  • Monitor and address front end system issues such as scan errors, pricing discrepancies, and equipment or system emergencies.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and supervise front end staff; make recommendations related to hiring, discipline, and employment status changes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, safety standards, and grooming expectations.
  • Manage labor, supply usage, and other expenses to meet budget and performance goals.
  • Support store sales initiatives and serve as an overflow cashier when needed.

Competencies:

  • Front End operations management and staff scheduling
  • Cash control, reconciliation, and loss prevention
  • Employee supervision, coaching, and performance management
  • Budget management for labor, supplies, and operational expenses
  • Policy compliance and workplace safety awareness

Knowledge:

  • Retail Front End operations and customer service best practices
  • Company policies and procedures related to Front End operations
  • Interviewing techniques and basic employment practices
  • Point‑of‑sale systems, cash handling, and basic computer applications
  • Safety, sanitation, and department procedures

Abilities:

  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and move quickly as needed
  • Ability to lift and maneuver items weighing up to approximately 55 lbs
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot checkout and Front End equipment
  • Ability to supervise employees and make effective operational decisions
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and safety

Other requirements:

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by store operations
  • Must be able to perform work in a safety‑sensitive position
  • Commitment to honesty, integrity, and accountability
  • Ability to work safely around retail equipment and in a fast‑paced environment
