DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCustomer Service & Front-End Standards

  • Assist the Service Operations Manager with all assigned job duties and responsibilities.

  • Champion corporate and division customer service programs to meet or exceed customer service goals.

  • Direct and supervise front‑end operations, including customer traffic flow, lane coverage, and the cleanliness and appearance of the front‑end, restrooms, entryway, and parking lot.

  • Maintain a fresh, full, and organized appearance of checkstand merchandisers; ensure checkstands remain clean and properly signed.

  • Answer and respond to incoming calls; provide customer service center support and required services as needed.

  • Perform all job duties with honesty, integrity, and in compliance with company policies and procedures.

Policy Compliance & Operational Controls

Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures including:

  • Cash Handling

  • Employee Purchase

  • Restricted Product Sales (alcohol and tobacco)

  • Coupon and Gift Card policies

  • Scan accuracy

  • Supervising minor employees

  • Product Return Policy

  • WIC

  • Sanitation, safety, security

  • Grooming and dress code standards

  • Check acceptance

  • Report policy violations to store management immediately.

  • Ensure accurate operation and functionality of the Point of Sale (POS) system.

Cash Handling & Financial Responsibilities

  • Assist with accountability for all cash flow requirements including safe transactions, till issues/pickups, check acceptance, refunds, and cashier fund monitoring.

  • Work with the Scan/FMC Team to ensure scanning file issues are resolved promptly.

May complete tasks such as:

  • Running totals on tills

  • Preparing and verifying daily deposit slips

  • Completing all required Front‑End forms

  • Report irregularities or problems to the Service Operations Manager.

Front-End Support & Staffing

  • Serve as a cashier as needed to support service levels.

  • Understand and support all functions of the customer service center.

  • Support front‑end staffing needs and workflow adjustments as required.

Additional Duties

  • Assist with any other necessary or assigned duties to support overall front‑end operations.
