DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCustomer Service & Front-End Standards

Assist the Service Operations Manager with all assigned job duties and responsibilities.
-
Champion corporate and division customer service programs to meet or exceed customer service goals.
-
Direct and supervise front‑end operations, including customer traffic flow, lane coverage, and the cleanliness and appearance of the front‑end, restrooms, entryway, and parking lot.
-
Maintain a fresh, full, and organized appearance of checkstand merchandisers; ensure checkstands remain clean and properly signed.
-
Answer and respond to incoming calls; provide customer service center support and required services as needed.
-
Perform all job duties with honesty, integrity, and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Policy Compliance & Operational Controls
Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures including:
-
Cash Handling
-
Employee Purchase
-
Restricted Product Sales (alcohol and tobacco)
-
Coupon and Gift Card policies
-
Scan accuracy
-
Supervising minor employees
-
Product Return Policy
-
WIC
-
Sanitation, safety, security
-
Grooming and dress code standards
-
Check acceptance
-
Report policy violations to store management immediately.
-
Ensure accurate operation and functionality of the Point of Sale (POS) system.
Cash Handling & Financial Responsibilities
-
Assist with accountability for all cash flow requirements including safe transactions, till issues/pickups, check acceptance, refunds, and cashier fund monitoring.
-
Work with the Scan/FMC Team to ensure scanning file issues are resolved promptly.
May complete tasks such as:
-
Running totals on tills
-
Preparing and verifying daily deposit slips
-
Completing all required Front‑End forms
-
Report irregularities or problems to the Service Operations Manager.
Front-End Support & Staffing
-
Serve as a cashier as needed to support service levels.
-
Understand and support all functions of the customer service center.
-
Support front‑end staffing needs and workflow adjustments as required.
Additional Duties
- Assist with any other necessary or assigned duties to support overall front‑end operations.
