Main responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the produce department team, including training, scheduling, and daily oversight.
  • Deliver a high level of customer service by assisting customers, resolving concerns professionally, and promoting fresh produce offerings.
  • Manage department financial performance, including forecasting weekly sales, managing inventory, and meeting budget goals.
  • Execute weekly marketing, merchandising, and promotional plans to create visually appealing produce displays.
  • Ensure product quality and freshness by inspecting inventory, rotating stock, maintaining code dates, and removing unsellable items.
  • Receive and organize produce deliveries and ensure product is safely transported and properly staged.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, weights and measures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate pricing, signage, and promotional materials throughout the department.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment on both the sales floor and back‑room areas.

Abilities:

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply written procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lead by example and maintain department standards
  • Ability to meet physical job demands, including standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., and using material handling equipment

Other requirements:

  • Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Compliance with uniform, grooming, and workplace conduct standards
  • Ability to work in a temperature‑controlled store with occasional exposure to varying temperatures
  • Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs
