Main responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the produce department team, including training, scheduling, and daily oversight.
- Deliver a high level of customer service by assisting customers, resolving concerns professionally, and promoting fresh produce offerings.
- Manage department financial performance, including forecasting weekly sales, managing inventory, and meeting budget goals.
- Execute weekly marketing, merchandising, and promotional plans to create visually appealing produce displays.
- Ensure product quality and freshness by inspecting inventory, rotating stock, maintaining code dates, and removing unsellable items.
- Receive and organize produce deliveries and ensure product is safely transported and properly staged.
- Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, weights and measures, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate pricing, signage, and promotional materials throughout the department.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment on both the sales floor and back‑room areas.

- Ability to read, understand, and apply written procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lead by example and maintain department standards
- Ability to meet physical job demands, including standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., and using material handling equipment
Other requirements:
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Compliance with uniform, grooming, and workplace conduct standards
- Ability to work in a temperature‑controlled store with occasional exposure to varying temperatures
- Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs
