Job Description:

Airbus Helicopters in Marignane is looking for an enthusiastic **Software Architect for Vehicle System Management (VMS)**with strong vehicle system and software knowledge to join our dynamic Vehicle Functions Department.

Your Role:

As a Vehicle System Management Software architect, you will be an integral part of the Vehicle Functions Department, working alongside experts in software development, system design, and avionics architectures. You’ll act as a product owner and focal point, being accountable for the full VMS software architecture of helicopters. You’ll play a key animation role to achieve a mature design architecture, and an improved software performance.

You’ll drive the design of the VMS Software, being accountable for the performance, modularity and reusability of the software. You will also take part in the development, and integration of functional software supporting essential helicopter vehicle and engine systems monitoring.

To achieve this you will work in close collaboration with all required stakeholders: department leader, avionics system architects, developers, avionics project leader, Helicopter Project, Safety, Software Test team to

You’ll be accountable for the entire SW design, including the re-usability between the products and the modularity. You will also be responsible to validate the most appropriate SW verification methods and environment, choosing the best tools and methods to be used to ensure SW certification towards regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Be the VMS SW responsible for helicopter avionics project, taking care about the design of the SW architecture, until the development end to end of the VMS SW

• Develop vehicle management SW by using various languages and tools, ensuring alignment with standard and requirements.

• Be accountable of SW verification

• Collaborate with Airbus India to ensure SW verification process is followed

• Specification of requirements at SW level

• Support investigation during rig tests, ensuring the VMS functions as expected and meets all software requirements and performance standards within the helicopter platform.

• Coordination/proactive behavior ensuring maturity of the technical requirements from helicopters system design responsibles

• Ensuring certification of the VMS software (documentations, plans, reviews)

• This role may require some business travel to Germany

Required Skills & Experience:

The ideal candidate has the following experience and skills:

• Educated to a 5 years’ degree level (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related discipline (mainly aeronautics, software, systems, electrical...)

• Advanced level in system development and systems engineering

• More than 6-years experience in development of embedded real time software (C, Scade…),

• Experience as a SW architect on a development involving several developers, collecting & translating needs for the team

• Good Communication skills: capacity to align stakeholders based on clear information / indicators

• Knowledge in regulation standard (DO 178 B/C, ARP 4754 A) and certification constraints

• Knowledge of modelling (MBSE), Helicopter Vehicle Systems (Basics , Mission, Engine, ..) would be a plus.

• Knowledge of configuration management processes and tools (e.g. git…)

• Good knowledge in agile methodologies : routines, roles

• Advanced level of French and English. German is a plus.
