Job Description:
Location:
Toulouse (Saint Martin), France
Type of contract:
CDI-C till the end of February 2028 (the contract is linked to the deliverable of the demonstrator)
Starting ASAPAirbus UpNext
is designed as a talent incubator:
we act fast, take risks, and we disrupt the status quo, while building on the strong expertise of Airbus. Currently, we're building a strategic demonstrator that will define the future of[Aircraft Connectivity](http: //www.airbus.com/en/innovation/digital-transformation/connectivity-innovations).
We aren't just looking for an architect; we’re looking for a pioneer. You’ll have the agility of a startup founder with the backing of the global leader. If you want to build high-stakes tech that actually takes flight, your boarding pass is waiting!
Your Mission:
The Ground Truth of Flight:
As our Ground Systems Software Architect, you aren't just drawing diagrams; you are the hands-on visionary responsible for the "Ground-to-Cloud-to-Air" nervous system. You will define, build, and scale the platform that makes seamless, high-performance connectivity a reality.
What You’ll Own:
-
Cloud Architecture: Design and lead a multi-account AWS infrastructure. You’ll be the master of AWS Organizations and the champion of Fin Ops, ensuring our tech is as efficient as it is powerful.
-
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation: If it can be automated, it should be. You’ll lead the charge in IaC and CI/CD, making deployment a non-event.
-
Networking and Security: From managing complex data streams to securing air-to-ground links, you’ll ensure that every packet of data is secure, fast, and reliable.
-
Full-Stack Agility: You’re a "builder" at heart. You’ll dive into backend/API development to rapidly prototype solutions that solve real-world aerospace hurdles.
-
Containerization & Orchestration: We don't fear AI; we leverage it. You’ll use tools like Claude, GitHub Copilot, and Cursor to supercharge development and maintain elite code quality.
Your boarding pass
- The Architect’s Mindset:
Deep expertise in end-to-end SW systems and Ground-to-Air communication.
- Cybersecurity First:
A "security-by-design" philosophy when building cloud environments.
- The Troubleshooter:
You have a "systems-thinking" approach and can find a needle in a haystack (or a data drop across multiple hops).
- Tech Stack:
Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, and modern monitoring/KPI solutions to track performance across wired and wireless networks.
- Performance Tracking and Telemetry: Proficiency with monitoring and KPI solutions on both local and cloud platforms to track end-to-end performance across multiple wired and wireless networks.
Why Join the Up Next Crew?
- 🚀 High-Impact Work:
You aren't a cog in a machine. You are building a high-value asset that will become the blueprint for Airbus’s future connectivity.
- 🛠️ Elite Tech Culture:
Work in a high-achieving, fun team that values "Care for Each Other." We are a community of geeks, pilots, and innovators.
-
💡 Develop Critical Competences: Acquire and develop a sound background in connectivity technologies, a field essential for the future of aerospace. This experience can provide a unique career development opportunity within Airbus.
-
💪🏻 The Best of Both Worlds:
Enjoy the fast-paced, "test-and-fail-fast" environment of a startup, backed by the stability and resources of Airbus.
- ⚖️ Flexibility for Real Life:
We value outcomes, not desk time. Benefit from flexible hours, remote work options, and a workspace designed for collaboration.
- ☕ The Perks:
Beyond the career-defining experience, we have regular community bonding events and—most importantly—premium freshly ground coffee and beverages to keep the gears turning.
Because we operate in an Agile environment, your mission might evolve. We need someone who views "change" as "opportunity."
