About the role

Job Description:

  • A vacancy for Communications & Connectivity System Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space
  • Air Power in Getafe. Successful applicant will join Comms Systems Architectures Team within A/C Connectivity & Comms domain.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES AND TASKS

In the framework of Communications and Connectivity, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Overall Comms System Engineering Activities Coordination (Time, Cost and Quality)
  • Overall Comms L1 System Design
  • Contribution to the requirements and the design for all chains and segments within Comms
  • Contribution to L1 Integration and Verification, Certification, Security Accreditation & Qualification
  • Participation and contribution to L1 technical baselines and technical reviews
  • Support Progress Reviews and Customer discussions
  • Coordination with Chief Engineering Office, other Systems Work Packages, and COMMS Design Offices
  • Additionally, as member of a multi-programme team, contribute to other Transport A/C programmes architecture activities as backup and support.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Educated to degree level in Engineering, valuable PhD/Telecommunications Engineering Degree.
  • Experience in system engineering or Communications/Avionics related jobs.
  • A/C and Comms Architecture knowledge at least in one of the following platforms:
  • UAS, MRTT, C295, A400M
  • Be familiar with System Engineering processes (DPs / ABDs etc)
  • Be familiar with airworthiness and certification processes
  • Be familiar with Comms systems, at least one of the following disciplines.
  • Voice based Radio Communications (Radios, SATCOM, Intercom systems)
  • IP/Digital based communications (Datalinks, ROVER, SATCOM, LTE, etc)
  • Tactical Datalinks (Link16, Link22 etc)
  • Awareness on cyber security implications for airborne platforms will be highly considered.

Be familiar with following tools and competences:

  • Project management and milestones follow-up
  • Requirements capture and traceability (DOORS)
  • Configuration Control
  • Model Based Systems Development as Simulink, Matlab, CAMEO
  • Problem solving and decision making,
  • Assertiveness
  • English Fluent
