Job Description:

The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) is a unique international program sponsored by the French Ministries of Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria.

VIE Main Requirements:

  • European Union citizens (plus Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Monaco), graduates up to and including 28 years old (a V.I.E mission can begin no later than the day of the twenty-ninth birthday)

  • Have fulfilled military obligations for their country, if any

  • Must be registered on the Mon Volontariat International website before the age of 28

A VIE for Engine Air Bleed System Modeling has arisen within Airbus Commercial Aircraft in Getafe, Spain. You will join the Air System Supply department, a team of highly motivated and valuable people involved in Simulation and Modeling activities.

Your main tasks will include:

  • Contribute to the development of an Air Bleed System (ATA36) performance and control model.

  • Interact with the Engine Performance and Thermal Management department, located in Toulouse, France to develop an integrated model representing together the Engine performance & thermal model and the Air System model

This role may involve few business travels per year to Toulouse and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills

You have the following skills and experience:

Degree: Graduate engineer or PhD in aeronautics, ideally with a specialization in Aircraft Systems and Propulsion Physics disciplines,

A general knowledge of Aircraft System Simulation

Coding : basic experience in Matlab, Python (at least Pandas knowledges..))

Machine learning knowledge would be a plus

In addition you are capable to demonstrate the following skills:

Autonomous, problem solver, proactive in researching documentation and testing

  • Ability to summarize, critical thinker

Team player, ability to collaborate easily with colleagues

Language Skills: Negotiation level of English
