IBM Mainframe Specialists are responsible for designing, coding, testing, and maintaining programs and software applications on mainframe systems. They enhance existing software systems and participate in agile software development practices. They review application code to identify critical defects and provide necessary fixes. They collaborate with other teams to develop, design, and troubleshoot software applications. They are also responsible for full system development life cycles, integration testing, and acceptance testing.
Job Description
IBM MF Specialist is a senior role of PAS (Policy Admin Systems) team in Solution Delivery department. This role requires comprehensive technical skills to deliver the best fit solutions that contribute to business values. This role also needs to provide guidance and help to other development members including governance of vendor partners.
Job Purpose
- Responsible for PAS developments including governance of vendors to deliver solutions
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for PAS developments from end-to-end including support IT/ST/UAT as needed.
- Contribute to PAS transformation related to IT Modernization program in Japan.
- Provide guidance to other development team members as needed.
- Communicate and guide vendor development team to ensure the direction and delivery quality.

Required Skills and Experiences
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor of Science Degree – Computer Science or related field
Specific Qualifications
- Japanese language: N3 & above. English business fluency
Total Experience
Experience:

8+ years IT delivery experience
-
Tier 1 insurance carrier transformation experience, preferred

Familiar with commonly used insurance system packages, preferred

Insurance Knowledge:
-
Comprehensive knowledge of insurance product definition, rating engine, underwriting rules, regulatory reporting
Technical Skills:
-
Knowledge of COBOL/Assembler/JCL/CICS/IMSDB/zOS Connect.

Mastery in IBM mainframe platform environment setup

Experience in integration of IBM mainframe and open systems

Leadership:
