Job Description

Manages a team of 30+ Application Scientists across APAC, including Southeast Asia, India, Korea, and Japan, supporting the CASA (Cell Analysis Sales & Application) and DGG (Diagnostics & Genomics Group) portfolios. This role is accountable for resolving the current disconnect between LSS and CASA/DGG application teams and eliminating regional silos across APAC to enable stronger end-to-end solution positioning, tighter alignment with sales organizations, and accelerated CASA/DGG business growth.

  • Leads and optimizes a geographically dispersed team of application scientists, breaking down regional and portfolio silos to build strong cross-country and cross-portfolio collaboration.

  • Drives effective business development during the pre-sales process through the provision of deep technical and workflow expertise, positioning Agilent solutions as an integrated end-to-end portfolio rather than standalone offerings.

  • Partners closely with regional and country sales organizations to align application strategies with commercial priorities, directly supporting pipeline generation, competitor displacement, and deal closure.

  • Owns the planning, development, deployment, and utilization of application resources, ensuring optimal coverage from opportunity qualification through deal closure across all APAC regions.

  • Establishes strong collaboration between LSS, CASA, and DGG application teams to improve solution awareness, value articulation, and customer impact.

  • Develops internal partnerships and external customer relationships to deeply understand customer workflows and unmet needs, recommend differentiated solutions, and provide structured feedback to influence future product and solution development.

  • Supports the achievement of regional sales targets by improving application effectiveness, consistency, and scalability across countries.

  • Stays current on and anticipates market, technology, and competitive trends within cell analysis, diagnostics, and genomics to continuously refine application and sales enablement strategies.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (PhD or Master’s preferred) in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related discipline; equivalent industry experience may be considered.

  • 10+ years of experience in application support, field application science, or technical sales within cell analysis, diagnostics, genomics, or closely related life science markets.

  • At least 2+ years of people management experience, including leading large, geographically dispersed teams across multiple countries or regions.

  • Proven experience partnering with sales organizations to drive business outcomes, including pipeline development, competitive displacement, and deal closure.

  • Demonstrated ability to position integrated, end-to-end workflow solutions, rather than standalone products, in complex customer environments.

  • Strong understanding of APAC market dynamics, including cultural, operational, and commercial differences across Southeast Asia, India, Korea, and Japan.

  • Experience working in matrix organizations, with the ability to influence across functions (sales, marketing, product, and other application teams).
