Pre-Sales Application Engineer
Job Description
Agilent inspires and supports discoveries that advance the quality of life. We provide life science, diagnostic and applied market laboratories worldwide with instruments, services, consumables, applications and expertise. Agilent enables customers to gain the answers and insights they seek so they can do what they do best: improve the world around us. Information about Agilent is available at www.agilent.com.
Do you enjoy turning complex chemistry into clear solutions? At Agilent, we don't just sell instruments; we enable the breakthroughs that improve global health and safety. As our newest Pre-Sales Application Engineer, you will be the technical heart of our GC and GCMS Center of Excellence in Les Ulis (Paris). You won't just be demonstrating equipment; you'll be a strategic partner to our customers, helping them solve their most challenging analytical puzzles and driving the future of laboratory workflows.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Be the Technical Authority: Lead high-impact product demonstrations and provide expert scientific guidance to help customers choose the right solutions for their labs.
- Drive the Sales Cycle: Partner with Account Managers from initial qualification to final deal closure, ensuring all technical requirements are met with precision.
- Innovate Workflows: Proactively develop new applications and workflows in collaboration with the EMEA technical team to stay at the cutting edge of GC and GCMS technology.
- Outsmart the Competition: Analyze market trends and competitor specifications to highlight Agilent's unique advantages and "lockout" the opposition.
- Voice of the Customer: Act as a bridge between the field and product management, influencing future designs and writing application briefs that showcase our capabilities.
- Share Your Knowledge: Deliver technical seminars at scientific forums and provide high-level training for our internal sales teams to keep everyone sharp.
Qualifications
- The Academic Foundation: A Bachelor's or master’s in chemistry, Food Science, or Analytical Chemistry. (If you have a PhD or research experience in Environmental or Tox sciences, we'd love to hear about it).
- Hands-on Mastery: At least 4+ years of experience working directly with GC and GCMS (SQ/TQ/QTOF). Familiarity with Agilent platforms and software is a massive plus.
- The "Consultant" Mindset: You aren't just a scientist; you're a problem-solver who enjoys supporting a sales environment and putting the customer's needs first.
- Communication Skills: Full fluency in French and English is essential. You should be as comfortable presenting to a boardroom as you are tweaking a method in the lab.
- Flexibility: While you're based in Les Ulis, you're open to occasional travel to support our French-speaking partners.
On a personal level, you are a team player and you are autonomous. You also have great communications skills to interact with a lot of stakeholders and you are customer focused. You are also willing to travel on a regular basis.
What we offer:
- Permanent Contract with a global industry leader.
- A Supportive Culture: We pride ourselves on an outstanding company environment.
- Career Growth: We provide the training and development you need to become an expert in the SaaS space.
- Comprehensive Benefits: Company pension scheme, yearly bonus, private healthcare, stock purchase plan, and life insurance.
We will make sure you get all the training and development opportunities you need to become the best in your field!
