Job Description:

  • Follows strict infection prevention precautions.
  • Adheres to policies and procedures regarding all aspects of medication safety.
  • Sets measurable and achievable short and long-range goals for patients, developing and implementing individualized plans of care.
  • Prioritizes and completes follow-up assessments, evaluating and modifying plans of care as needed.
  • Applies knowledge and skills pertaining to all diagnoses, procedures, medications, complications, and equipment associated with unit patient population.
  • Adheres to all pertinent regulatory standards, follows strict infection prevention precautions, and ensures medication safety.
  • Promotes an exceptional patient experience through effective communication with patients, families, and visitors, including hourly rounding.
  • Utilizes appropriate techniques, verbiage, and resources in all interactions with patients according to their level of understanding.
  • Communicates effectively with the interdisciplinary team, completing thorough hand-off communication in all situations.
  • Abides by American Nurses Association Scope, Standards, and Code of Ethics, participating in practice changes, process improvement initiatives, and completing all required education.
  • Manages staff accountability and adherence to regulatory requirements when applicable.
  • Facilitates team dynamics of patient care, patient experience, and patient flow including managing staff assignments.
  • Fulfills management responsibilities including effective conflict resolution, patient/staff rounding and communication, resource utilization, comprehensive hand off communication, and completion of unit specific audits/checklists as required or assigned.
  • Demonstrates the ability to assess and interpret diagnostic data relative to patient age and condition, including, but not limited to lab results, non-invasive monitoring data, and interdisciplinary team notes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently Required
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems, Cerner preferred Preferred
  • Ability to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes Required

Education:

  • Associate's of Nursing Required
  • Bachelor's of Nursing Preferred

Field of Study:

  • N/A

Work Experience:

  • 2+ relevant clinical nurse experience preferred Preferred

Pay Range:

$37.39 - $69.54
