Job Description: This position is eligible for a Sign On Bonus!

Passes instruments and supplies to surgeon during procedures. Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique during procedures. Prepares sterile dressings and cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization. Assists other team members with terminal cleaning of the room and prepping for the next patient. Handles surgical specimens with 100% accuracy. Recognizes and responds immediately to emergency situations appropriately. Performs other duties as assigned. Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures. Scrubs, gowns, and gloves for surgical procedures. Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures, displaying knowledge of procedure and patient positioning. Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before the incision is closed. Gowns and gloves surgeon and assistants. Helps in draping sterile field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Interpersonal Skills Required
• Completion of validation skills Required
• Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up Required
• Knowledge of sterilization techniques Required
• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English Required
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Required
• Organization, promoting, and conducting relative In-services on unit Preferred

Education:

• Associate Required
• High School Grad or Equiv Required
• Technical/Vocational School Required

Field of Study:

• Graduate from school of surgical technology or equivalent (e.g., military training program)

Work Experience:

• 1+ experience Preferred

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support
• CPR Cert (BLS) Preferred
