Job Description: $10,000 Sign on Bonus Available for eligible candidates Relocation incentive from $5,000 available for eligible candidates Professional Excellence Program Incentives Schedule: Full Time Shift: Days with Call requirements

  • Prepares sterile dressings and clean instruments for terminal sterilization.
  • Assists other team members with terminal cleaning of the room and prepping for the next patient.
  • Handles surgical specimens with 100% accuracy.
  • Recognizes and responds immediately to emergency situations appropriately.
  • Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
  • Obtains scrubs, gowns, and gloves for surgical procedures.
  • Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures, displaying knowledge of procedure and patient positioning.
  • Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before the incision is closed.
  • Gowns and gloves the surgeon and assistants.
  • Assists in draping the sterile field.
  • Passes instruments and supplies to the surgeon during the procedure.
  • Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique during the procedure.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Interpersonal Skills Required
  • Completion of validation skills Required
  • Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up Required
  • Knowledge of sterilization techniques Required
  • Laser skills/training Required
  • Able to precept and act as resource person and preceptor in multiple surgical specialties Preferred
  • Minimum of one year scrub experience in a multi-disciplinary surgical service Required
  • Demonstrated specialization in one or more surgical areas as determined by Director Required
  • Proficient in the English language Required
  • Knowledge of malignant hyperthermia, surgical site infection prevention, emergency code cart, high and low level disinfection, clinical alarms, medication management, isolation precautions, surgical care of patients age (0-100+), fire safety, AIDET, and SBAR Required
  • Proficient in a minimum of 3 major surgical specialties Preferred

Education:

  • High School Grad or Equiv Required
  • Technical/Vocational School Required
  • Associate Preferred

Work Experience:

  • 1+ years of experience as certified surgical tech required

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support
  • CPR Cert (BLS) Required
  • State Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Required OR NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) RequiredOR Technician in Surgery TS-C (NCCT) Required

Pay Range:

$23.71 - $44.09
