Job Description:

  • Performs direct patient care duties within the technologist's scope of practice, including monitoring patient condition, transporting patient, and using proper infection control techniques.
  • Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
  • Cross-trains into advanced modalities as needed. Ability to follow basic radiation safety concepts of time, distance and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patient and staff.
  • Performs radiographic imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality images that meet department standards.
  • Positions patients and equipment, selecting technical factors to produce radiographic images safely and in a timely manner.
  • Performs imaging with correct patient demographic and examination information.
  • Enters and accesses patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR), updating procedure status and billing.
  • Assists patients during procedures, ensuring their comfort, safety, and privacy, in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers, team members, and others of diverse backgrounds.
  • Moves, positions, and manipulates radiographic equipment to complete requested procedures safely.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Fluent in the English language Required
  • Experience/knowledge of computers/networking Required
  • Effective communication skills Required
  • Supervisory/Leadership, OR, ED & digital radiology experience Required
  • Leadership skills Preferred
  • Ability to learn and use radiology software packages Required
  • Maintain responsibility for all required registries and licenses to perform Diagnostic Imaging Required
  • Responsible to maintain all required facility continuing and annual education Required
  • Ability to follow basic radiation safety concepts of time, distance, and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patient and staff Required
  • Knowledge of Diagnostic Radiologic Procedures/Positions Required
  • Ability to determine appropriate technical factors Required
  • Knowledge of Radiographic and Fluoroscopic equipment Required
  • Ability to learn and master new tasks related to Image Quality and Radiation Required
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds Required
  • Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures Required
  • Demonstrates ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively Required
  • E-mail and word processing skills such as Outlook and Microsoft programs, Word and Excel Required
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills Required
  • Ability to multi-task under stress while dealing with large customer volumes Required
  • Knowledge of advanced special procedures Preferred
  • Knowledge of PACS and associated equipment Preferred

Education:

  • High School Grad or Equiv Required
  • Associate Preferred

Pay Range:

$23.71 - $44.09
