Job Description:

• Selects appropriate materials and sterilization packaging for each instrument set, ensuring proper wrapping for aseptic technique.

• Other duties as assigned.

• Ensures sterility indicators and lot stickers are present on all instrument sets and packages.

• Operates complex sterilization equipment, selecting the correct method of sterilization based on manufacturer instructions.

• Reviews and signs all sterilizer recording charts to verify proper sterilization parameters before releasing items for clinical use.

• Ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements. Required

• Ability to understand the needs of the customer and respond to them in a pro-active, courteous, professional, and efficient manner. Required

• Flexibility and ability to adapt to change. Required

• Ability to work under stress and deadlines. Required

• Medical terminology Required

Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv Required
• Technical/Vocational School Preferred

Field of Study:

• in healthcare sterile processing

Work Experience:

• 1+ related experience Preferred

• Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) Required OR
• Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) Required
