AI Software Engineer at Adobe
About the role
The Opportunity
From the moment you wake up until you go to bed, almost every piece of media you consume, every app you use, and every online purchase you make involves an Adobe product. Customer Journey Analytics is the premier solution that helps marketers understand customer behavior through precise, timely, and insightful data — uncovering the most valuable segments and channeling those insights to run an entire business.
What We Are Looking For
We're looking for an AI Software Engineer to build and improve the data and service foundations behind Customer Journey Analytics. This is not a pure AI role and not a traditional big-data role — we want engineers who recognize that AI systems depend heavily on the quality of the platforms supporting them.
You likely have:
-
3–5 years of hands-on experience with distributed systems, backend services, or data platforms.
-
Experience with event streaming (Kafka, Flink, Kinesis, or similar) and data pipelines (Spark, Databricks, or comparable).
-
Familiarity with production operations: Kubernetes, CI/CD, monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
-
Strong engineering fundamentals (Java preferred; Python familiarity a plus).
-
A pragmatic approach: you care about correctness, performance, reliability, and cost — not just features.
What You'll Do
-
Design and develop components and subsystems within the data platform, taking on features of moderate complexity.
-
Work across multiple domains and modules — debugging integration issues, recognizing dependencies, and understanding how your work fits into the larger system.
-
Write quality code that meets team standards, own test plans for your features, and deploy and validate your work in production.
-
Collaborate with product management, design, and data science to turn requirements into testable solutions.
AI-Related Expectations
You do not need qualifications as an AI researcher. You do need to be comfortable using development tools enhanced by AI within established standards, and apply AI techniques to improve workflows with measurable product value. You should think critically about observability and failure modes for AI-assisted features, and care about responsible AI principles when shipping user-facing functionality.
AI here is embedded within the system, not a nice-to-have.
Nice to Have
Scala; Jenkins/Argo or similar CI/CD tooling; observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk); experience with high-traffic systems; prior exposure to LLM APIs or AI-powered services in production.
Why This Role Is Different
You'll work on a stable, widely used product, not a greenfield experiment. You'll operate real systems with real customers and real consequences. And you'll grow rapidly across domains, with increasing independence and impact.
