Director, Brand Team Lead, IMCO – Corneal Health & Glaucoma at AbbVie
About the role
This position is responsible for developing and leading the global brand strategy for both Corneal Health and Glaucoma, partnering with international markets to drive launch readiness and optimize on-market performance in alignment with international business needs and Local Business Unit dynamics. The role embodies a "One Abb Vie" mindset to foster cross-functional and cross-market collaboration.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Provide overarching leadership and direction for marketing vision, strategies, plans, and resource investments for Corneal Health and Glaucoma franchises and/or functional units
- Align and lead the global charge, ensuring strategies reflect a "One Abb Vie" mindset
- Set tone and priorities for scale and scope of accountability across both therapy areas globally
- Ensure rigorous prioritization of strategic initiatives and execution, focusing on high-impact activities that best support franchise objectives in both therapy areas
- Develop and implement a comprehensive portfolio optimization strategy to enable future growth across Corneal Health and Glaucoma, adapting to changing market and business needs
- Work closely with the operations team to ensure alignment, engagement, and effective execution, influencing cross-functional partners to support the franchises’ future growth and operational excellence
- Influence and persuade across multiple internal and external stakeholders and partners
- Lead and develop direct, indirect, and cross-business teams, infusing Abb Vie Ways of Working and Talent Philosophy
- Use coaching to create high-performing teams, elevating marketing skills and knowledge
- Determine appropriate actions, execution, tracking, and monitoring of marketing plans for both Corneal Health and Glaucoma
- Maintain market awareness and triangulate market dynamics, constituents’ needs, and business priorities for market-advantaged action
- Formulate, adjust, and execute business plans to achieve objectives and goals, including financial results, constituents and market impact
- Drive growth, market share, and penetration for Corneal Health and Glaucoma portfolios
- Recommend and take strategic decisions and actions for Abb Vie, franchise, and brands at varying lifecycle stages
- Lead cross-functional International Brand Team (INBT) and direct strategic discussions spanning both therapy areas
- Collaborate with Affiliates and US teams to align on positioning/co-positioning
- Oversee product lifecycle management for Corneal Health and Glaucoma brands
- Lead the strategic planning and execution of ACE, explicitly linking brand and ACE strategies to clear prioritization and franchise growth plans
Key Deliverables:
- Accountable for international strategy deployment (e.g., 1-7-5 framework) for both franchises as needed in line with the franchises’ priorities.
- Lead and align tactical plans for Corneal Health and Glaucoma globally, ensuring clear prioritization of initiatives based on business impact
- Champion Corneal Health and Glaucoma brand strategies within ACE planning, ensuring strategies are actionable and linked to key priorities
- Maintain cross-functional network to facilitate strategy, promotion, and operational alignment
- Director-level marketing experience
- Expertise in strategic brand planning and franchise management
- Significant leadership experience in sales or marketing, preferably in affiliate or international markets
- Strong understanding of Ophthalmology therapeutic area, with experience in Corneal Disease and/or Glaucoma highly preferred
