Abbott Ireland Diagnostic Division – Longford:
The Longford facility plays a key role in helping Abbott to meet the increasing global demand for diagnostic testing in areas such as infectious disease, cancer, thyroid, and cardiovascular diseases.

Longford is based in the midlands of Ireland surrounded by water with the River Shannon, Lough Ree and the Royal Canal. It has a vibrant collection of communities with a rich historical background. The County has plenty to offer to both visitors and citizens in sport, culture, literature, amenities, festivals, events, retail and dining.

We currently have a position for Diagnostic Assistant in our Operations Department which will involve the following:

Your Role

As a Diagnostic Assistant, you’ll help ensure our production goals are met — delivering high-quality diagnostic products that make a difference in people’s lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute production tasks in service centers, labs, and warehouse areas
  • Follow GMP/GLP standards and complete all required documentation
  • Support continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives
  • Train new team members and revise procedures as needed
  • Use computer systems and assist with validation protocols
  • Maintain safety, quality, and inventory standards

What You’ll Need

  • Minimum Leaving Certificate or equivalent
  • Previous manufacturing experience is a plus, but not essential
  • Ability to follow procedures and work independently
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork
