JOB DESCRIPTION:

Unlock your potential as an Abbott Intern. Join us to work on impactful projects, learn from senior leaders, and build your career. At Abbott, you can:

  • Contribute to meaningful, challenging projects with a direct impact on our business

  • Have regular access to senior leadership providing you with an opportunity to grow and learn from the best each day

  • Develop your career and grow your knowledge through targeted training, a global intern community, and the opportunity to build your network

  • Access perks that keep you supported both inside and outside the office

The Opportunity:

Abbott’s Diabetes Care division is part of Abbott Laboratories and is one of the leading manufacturers of cutting-edge glucose monitoring systems for the home and hospital diabetes markets. Our UK operations are both R&D/Manufacturing at our state-of-the-art facility in Witney, and Sales, Marketing and Commercial functions based out of Maidenhead, supported by many field-based teams.

During the internship you will be given the opportunity to showcase your skills and talent. As a team we feel it is important to focus on your individual development and you will be given the opportunity to shape and lead projects during your time with us.

We aim to support you in identifying and working on key development areas that are important to help you get the most out of your placement and prepare you for a future career - hopefully with us!

What You’ll Do

You’ll support our Diabetes Care division—home to cutting‑edge glucose monitoring technology—working closely with our Sales Enablement and Marketing teams. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting marketing and promotional activities

  • Collecting and analysing data from campaigns and market research

  • Assisting with product sampling programmes and training initiatives

  • Preparing promotional materials and presentations

  • Helping organise marketing events and distributing assets

  • Supporting digital media channels and daily team tasks

  • Ensuring all activities comply with Abbott quality and compliance standards

Throughout the internship, you'll have the opportunity to shape and lead your own projects, receive continuous feedback and mentoring, and gain exposure to senior leadership.

  • What We’re Looking For

  • Currently studying for a Bachelor’s or Integrated Master’s degree (Business or Marketing preferred)

  • Strong communication skills, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn

  • Ability to work independently and in a fast‑paced team

  • Experience with MS Office, Excel or Power BI is a plus but not required

  • A genuine interest in marketing, sales operations, and healthcare

Grace, a current intern, shared:
“In just 4 months at Abbott my experience has far exceeded my expectations. I’ve grown professionally and personally, supported every step of the way by an incredible team.”

To Apply:

  • To apply, please submit your CV. Closing date for applications is 21st March. Shortlisting will take place early January, with interviews being conducted from mid-Feb 2026.

Abbott is proud to see a number of our students return to us for permanent roles post-graduation, and our internship opportunities are a stepping stone to a longer-term career with us. To be eligible therefore to apply, it is a requirement that candidates can demonstrate the assured on-going right to work, without the need for sponsorship now or in the future, thus must be already eligible to work in the UK, or able to apply for a visa granting permission to work in the UK (e.g. dependent visas, ancestry etc.) that do not require future sponsorship.

By submitting your application, you consent for your details to be shared with our Third Party Labour supplier who are working on behalf of Abbott on this position.
