JOB DESCRIPTION:

Abbott Rapid Diagnostics is part of Abbott’s Diagnostics family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry leading technologies to support the rapid qualitative detection of Drugs of Abuse (DOA).

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Quality Assurance Analyst within our Abbott Rapid Diagnostics (formerly Alere) business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review and analyze complex business requirements, system specifications and other documentation

• Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans, test matrices, and test cases

• Execute (manual and/or automated) test plans and analyze results

• Tests user interfaces, SQL databases, reports, API’s and data transmissions

• Review test cases and test results produced by software development partners

• Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities

• Thoroughly document and report bugs and errors to development teams

• Ensure that QA procedures and documentation satisfy policy and regulatory requirements

• Assist in regulatory audits where QA documentation is needed

• Help troubleshoot production application issues

• Help optimize QA and DevOps processes and foster continuous improvement

• Work with business analysts to ensure that business and system requirements support effective testing

• Work with software developers to ensure that software is being developed with QA in mind, e.g. unit tests

• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 5-7 years of quality assurance related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience

• Understanding of lifecycle approach as well as risk based approach to quality assurance

• Understanding of automation testing using tools and frameworks like NUnit and Selenium

• 2-3 years of experience in database testing with ability to read, write, and execute complex SQL queries

• Experience in the following areas:

• Jira or similar project management / issue tracking tools

• Test-driven software development
