
Regional Controller Benelux - Abbott Diabetes Care
About the role
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Controller is responsible for overseeing and managing all core financial activities for the Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) Benelux region. The role ensures strong financial governance across the region, covering accounting, budgeting and forecasting, financial planning and analysis, statutory and management reporting, credit control, accounts payable and receivable, as well as inventory and cost control.
This position plays a key role in supporting informed business decision‑making while ensuring compliance with Abbott policies and local regulatory requirements.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports for the ADC Benelux region, ensuring consistency, transparency, and compliance.
- Ensure financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, are prepared in line with local regulations, IFRS, and Abbott standards.
- Oversee internal and external reporting requirements, including auditor reports, financial analyst reports, and statutory and regulatory filings.
- Provide financial analysis and insights on regional performance, highlighting risks, opportunities, and trends, and present findings to senior management.
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning processes for the Benelux region in close collaboration with commercial and operational teams.
- Ensure strong financial controls across the region, including credit management, inventory valuation, and cost control.
- Lead, develop, and manage a team of Controllers, including performance management, coaching, talent development, and hiring or termination decisions.
Education & Experience — What You’ll Bring
Required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Finance or Accounting, ideally within an affiliate environment supporting a** commercial organization**.
- Strong technical finance skills, with advanced Excel capabilities and solid expertise in** Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)**.
- Fluent English and French or Dutch (spoken and written).
Preferred
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to leverage available data to develop insights and answer business questions in a timely manner.
- Proven experience preparing clear, impactful presentations for senior leadership, with the ability to translate complex financial topics into simple, actionable messages.
- Experience defining, improving, and clearly communicating financial processes.
- Ability to quickly learn the business and adapt to new ways of thinking or analyzing data.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment, managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
- Highly motivated and results‑driven, with a strong commitment to delivering on commitments on time and with high quality.
