The Opportunity

This position works out of our Westfield, IN location in the Structural Heart division.

Structural Heart Business Mission: Why We Exist

Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life by designing and providing device and management solutions for treating structural heart disease.

We are seeking a high caliber Senior Manufacturing Engineer who will support site ramp up for our Mitra Clip product line. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will provide technical support for manufacturing processing techniques, materials, and engineering planning as well as lead structured problem solving for manufacturing related issues. They will also lead a team of 2-5 Manufacturing Engineers and/or ME Technicians with similar responsibilities.

What You’ll Work On

  • Manage a team of 2-5 individuals including prioritization and delegation of day to day responsibilities, annual performance reviews, building team engagement.
  • Assures that production lines output meets the specifications of the product. Has clear criteria of conforming/ non-conforming product and the test methods used for verifying conformance.
  • Daily support to the manufacturing activities to meet established goals for safety, quality, cost and production.
  • Maintains systems that support the monitoring of key performance indicators such as yield, nonconforming material, or lead-time. If indicators show an adverse trend, works with the functional team to plan and implement appropriate changes.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Lead or serve as member on cross-functional project teams.
  • Lead projects to improve product quality, labor efficiency, and throughput using Lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Coordinate the design, procurement, build and debug of tooling, machinery, and test equipment.
  • Establish processes and compliance to design based on product specifications and requirements.
  • Evaluate process and design alternatives based on “Design for Manufacturability” principles.
  • Understand principles of “Cost of Goods Sold."
  • Manage manufacturing compliance with Quality Control requirements (i.e., Design Control, Process validation etc.)
  • Understand work environment issues (i.e., OSHA regulations, etc.)
  • Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Uses advanced statistic tools.

Shift: Monday

  • Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM with potential overtime

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree in Engineering or Technical Field required or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years manufacturing engineering experience required.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Ability to work within a team and in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Multitasks, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in timely manner.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel approximately 5%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • People management experience preferred.
  • Experience designing and testing medical devices preferred.
  • Experience developing manufacturing processes and technologies and designing for manufacturability preferred.
  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
  • Production ramp up experience.

The base pay for this position is

$78,000.00 – $156,000.00
In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
