About the role

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Opportunity:

Abbott has entered into an agreement to purchase Synlait’s North Island assets in New Zealand, including the Pōkeno manufacturing facility. Acquiring this facility supports Abbott’s anticipated growth in the Pacific Asia region across our adult and pediatric nutrition products. The pending close of the agreement is April 1, 2026.

This position works out of our Pokeno Site location in the Nutrition Division

What You’ll Do

  • Lead end‑to‑end CAPA remediation initiatives, including assessment, prioritization, execution, and closure of CAPA records using a risk‑based approach.
  • Establish clear intergation plans, timelines, and governance to address gaps in CAPA quality, documentation, and effectiveness.
  • Partner with site and functional leadership to elevate CAPA understanding, ownership, and accountability.
  • Drive change management activities to support adoption of improved CAPA practices, including coaching, communication, and training support.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional teams (Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, IT) to resolve root causes and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure CAPA integration activities align with Abbott Nutrition Quality System requirements and regulatory expectations.
  • Monitor remediation progress through defined metrics and dashboards; escalate risks and issues as needed.
  • Support inspection readiness by ensuring remediated CAPAs demonstrate clear problem statements, robust root cause analysis, appropriate actions, and verified effectiveness.

Change Management & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a change agent to shift CAPA behaviors to proactive, risk‑based problem solving.
  • Engage stakeholders at all levels to build understanding of CAPA expectations and roles.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes clearly to site leadership and governance forums.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, quality, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, and/or CAPA management within regulated environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading integration or remeidation initiatives related to audits, inspections, or quality system gaps.
  • Strong working knowledge of CAPA systems, root cause analysis, and risk‑based remediation.
  • Proven project management and execution skills.
  • Effective change management and influencing capability without direct authority.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to balance regulatory expectations with practical site execution.
