
Latam Portfolio Strategy & Expansion Manager
About the role
JOB DESCRIPTION:
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
Lead and drive Portfolio Expansion across Latin America by owning the end-to-end pipeline (LEAP, Raptor, Atom), ensuring robust business case development, and accelerating value delivery from ideation through launch.
The role is accountable for maximizing portfolio value by identifying, prioritizing, and executing organic and inorganic growth opportunities, while ensuring data integrity, governance excellence, and cross-functional alignment across regional and global stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own LATAM Portfolio Expansion Strategy: Define, prioritize, and continuously optimize the regional pipeline, balancing short-, mid-, and long-term opportunities to maximize value creation.
- Lead End-to-End Portfolio Execution: Drive projects from ideation to launch (Gates 1–7), ensuring milestone adherence, proactive issue resolution, and accelerated time to market.
- Drive Business Case Excellence: Develop and lead robust business cases including market assessments, patient flows, and financial models (P&L, NPV), ensuring successful approval at Innovation Boards.
- Identify and Shape Growth Opportunities: Lead the LATAM Innovation Program to identify LCM, geographic expansion, and new molecule opportunities in collaboration with local and global teams.
- Lead Cross-Functional Alignment: Influence and align stakeholders across Regulatory, Medical, Commercial, Operations, and Global teams to ensure seamless execution and decision-making.
- Ensure Risk Management & Mitigation: Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to safeguard timelines, investment, and launch success.
- Govern Portfolio Systems & Data Integrity: Planisware governance for regional programs, ensuring high-quality data, transparency, and actionable insights to support decision making.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 7–10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare industry.
- Proven experience in portfolio management, pipeline strategy, or innovation.
- Strong experience building and defending business cases.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Fluent English and Spanish; Portuguese desirable.
SUCCESS METRICS
- Time to market reduction across pipeline projects.
- Pipeline value (NPV or revenue contribution).
- Business case approval rate.
- On-time delivery of projects (Gates adherence).
- Launch success and revenue realization.
LANGUAGE
Proficiency in English is required; Spanish and Portuguese is a plus.
TRAVEL
