Senior Site Director, Operations

The Opportunity

The Senior Director Site Operations is responsible directly and through subordinate managers to oversee specific divisional franchise distribution and operations activities.

What You’ll Work On

  • Oversees distribution centers in EMEA and US.
  • Responsible for labeling services and driving optimal labeling solutions while keeping ahead of the changes in Regulatory requirements.
  • Managing the global capital service organization and working with commercial on delivering customer centric solutions and enhanced systems reliability and performance.
  • Develops and implements short- and long-term strategic plans to distribution and processes are in place to meet business objectives.
  • Develops, implements, trains and monitors effectiveness of distribution/ operations systems and procedures to ensure compliance with GMP and all other applicable agency regulations.
  • Responsible for developing a long-term strategy for the global capital service function, demonstrating YOY growth in revenue and service offerings.
  • Works cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Clinical, Regulatory and other departments as needed to ensure effective product shipment and allocation.
  • Works with Supply Chain management to develop effective production planning and inventory systems; ensures accurate tracking and accounting of materials and WIP.
  • Works with Continuous Improvement and engineering to drive efficiency and improvements in quality, cost and supply chain objectives.
  • Develops and maintains solid relationships with all functions of the organization with a focus on commercial and possesses the ability resolve cross functional issues and appropriately influence these functions.
  • Anticipates and resolves highest level issues and conflicts that could impact distribution success.
  • Prepares departmental budgets and control expenditures to stay within spending limits.
  • Hires and retains a diverse, highly qualified staff and provides ongoing performance feedback. Sets goals which align to department plans and manages the execution of goals through coaching and mentoring. Maintains a safe and professional work environment.
  • Ensures a safe work environment and environmentally responsible consistent with OSHA, country and Abbott requirements.
  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 15 years of progressively responsible work experience in a high volume, multi-product manufacturing environment. (Direct Manufacturing environment experience is not required as this will have oversight of distribution centers.)
  • Significant experience leading and implementing lean manufacturing / Six Sigma initiatives. Solid knowledge of GMP and ISO regulations.
  • Significant experience in identifying and driving operational change and excellence.
  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross division business unit model preferred. Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships and improve business results.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner. Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills and ability to hold others accountable.
  • Ability to travel approximately 20% including internationally.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Prior experience in medical device manufacturing preferred.

The base pay for this position is

$190,000.00 – $380,000.00
In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
