**The Opportunity This position works out of our Altavista, VA location in the Abbott Nutrition division.**Our Nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages, from helping babies and children grow to keeping adult bodies strong and active. What You’ll Work On

• Maintenance of the plant’s high-speed production equipment that makes our industry-leading nutrition products

• Non-repetitive mechanical repairs and troubleshooting

• Mechanical fluid and utility system troubleshooting

• Fabrication, machining and welding

• Installation or rearrangement of equipment

• Completion of work documentation

You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED

• Understanding of mechanical systems

• Mechanical and spatial aptitude

• Good math and writing skills

• Knowledge of hydraulic and fluid systems as well as proper lubrication procedures with oil and grease

Preferred Qualifications

• Welding certification preferred

• Backflow prevention certification preferred
