JOB DESCRIPTION:

Main Purpose of the Role

• Responsible for site operations. Includes: Manufacturing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Business Excellence. Must maintain a close partnership with the following organizations: R&D, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, IT, Finance, Human Resources, Environmental, Health and Safety, Facilities and Program Management. This role operates in a highly regulated environment with complex design and functionality. This position must be able to handle a high number of complex financial, analytical, and strategic considerations in critical decision making. Ensure compliance with all Abbott Corporate quality, financial, regulatory, purchasing and EH&S policies and regulations.

Main Responsibilities

• Responsible for site manufacturing of products in support of Global sales goals.

• Responsible for site shipment and distribution of finished goods to the intended affiliates in Asia, Middle East and Latin America.

• Devise strategy for operations, aligned with overall Divisional strategy.

• Ensure quality standards are met and that operations sustain positive compliance posture with all regulatory agencies.

• Lead Operations organization in a balanced scorecard of manufacturing performance to optimize service, cost, compliance, and people considerations while driving a culture of continuous improvement.

• Ensure compliance with all Abbott Corporate Quality, Financial, Regulatory, Purchasing and EHS policies and regulations.

• Provide leadership in driving a proactive compliance culture in all these areas.

• Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.

• Develop budgets, capital plans and staffing requirements to meet strategic objectives.

• Is a key member of the Manufacturing Operations senior team and requires only limited guidance from the DVP to ensure the direction of division operations is consistent with the charter of strategic initiatives.

• Operate in a highly matrixed relationship with all functions within the Division.

• Must possess the ability to manage without direct authority while commanding respect and building consensus.

• Facilitate change leadership and communication efforts to enable organizational performance.

• Solicits the cooperation of a diverse group of disciplines and functions across the globe to meet program needs.

• Directs the work of technical and support personnel. Erroneous decisions will have a long-term effect on the company’s success, goodwill, and reputation.

• Interacts internally and externally with executive level management to assure highest possible quality product and product availability to meet needs of business short and long term.

• Directs one or more operations related functional areas, product groups or service groups, etc through directors and managers with overall responsibility for the direction of those assigned areas.
