Abbott Ireland Diagnostic Division – Longford

Our Longford facility plays a key role in meeting global demand for diagnostic testing in areas such as infectious disease, cancer, thyroid, and cardiovascular conditions.

Located in the midlands and surrounded by the River Shannon, Lough Ree, and the Royal Canal, Longford offers a vibrant community with rich history, culture, sport, and amenities.

We are currently recruiting for a Value Stream Manager within our Supply Chain Department.

Purpose of the Role

• Operate as an individual contributor working under limited supervision.
• Apply subject‑matter expertise to support supply chain operations.
• Understand business needs and apply skills to deliver effective solutions.
• Maximise the efficiency and performance of the organisation’s supply chain.

Main Responsibilities

• Collect and analyse data, processes, and information flows to assess logistics efficiency and cost.
• Research operational costs, industry trends, and regulatory requirements; maintain an up‑to‑date knowledge base to support solution development.
• Use statistical modelling to develop and cost‑justify logistics solutions aligned with customer needs.
• Manage inventory and tactical planning, considering future customer requirements.
• Coordinate inter‑company shipments and resolve related issues.

Education & Experience

• A relevant third level qualifications with a minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience.
