We are looking for a new team member to join us as an Automation Service Engineer in ABB Energy Industries. The preferred locations are Helsinki, Vaasa, or Pirkkala, but other ABB locations in Finland may also be considered.
You will be a part of the business connecting people and technologies to help customers succeed in life and communities to advance. We do this by providing solutions ranging from electrification, automation, instrumentation and digital to customers within the energy industries.
Automation Service Engineer will be focusing on service agreement related activities within our new business areas on life sciences, chemicals and food & beverage, as well as power generation, district heating, energy conversion & management and smart infrastructure.
You execute engineering and commissioning work within service and in projects mainly in Finland but occasionally also abroad. Estimated annual travel is 30 - 150 days yearly, which you will be able to influence based on how you organize your work between remote connections and on-site work.
Responsibilities
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Service tasks and supporting customers with ad-hoc problem solving
- Organizing and executing control system hardware or software design activities, and commissioning activities at customer sites or remotely
- Ensuring installed base data quality
- Cooperating with service agreement coordinators and project managers, lead engineers, team members, customers representatives and other stakeholders
- Occasionally participating in upgrade and evolution projects
- Ensuring service activities are professionally and cost-effectively executed in accordance with contract specifications, budget, quality standards, and safety requirements
Qualifications
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in automation engineering, or relevant previous work experience
- Relevant knowledge of power plant automation / electrical systems hardware and software (PLC) design
- Experience with engineering processes in one of the following industries: life sciences, chemicals, food & beverage and power generation
- Fluency in Finnish and English, both written and spoken; Swedish is considered as an advantage
- Results-oriented, customer service and collaboration centric mind-set with commitment to long term learning and personal development
- Knowledge or willingness to learn IT and Cyber Security related activities
