Your role and responsibilities :
In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ABB’s success with technology, software, product, and system development. Each day, you will identify and implement innovative solutions to relevant problems. You will also showcase your expertise by providing ideas and by being able to work both independently and as a part of a Research & Development (R&D) team.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation Business of Measurement and Analytics Division in Bangalore.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- You will be an active contributor to product development in Business Line Instrumentation from early concept phase to design, validation and release to the manufacturing units.
- You will work in R&D multidisciplinary project teams for design and development of embedded software for Instrumentation devices, and you will be responsible for functionality, performance, cost and quality of the deliveries.
- You will be coordinating with hardware engineer and PC software & certification engineers for system debugging, designing and testing & documentation.
- You will be working with technical experts and product managers in analyzing and implementing functional requirements considering scalability, extensibility, complexity of the software to solve complex problems.
- You will collaborate actively with technical experts from other areas across functions and contribute to relevant forums both internal and external.
Qualifications for the role :
- Bachelor’s degree or above Computer Engineering, Electrical /Electronic Engineering from a reputed University.
- 8 to 15 years of relevant work experience in embedded device software development preferably in electronic measurement instruments.
- Good knowledge and hands-on experience in C/C++ language, familiar with DSP or ARM platforms and familiar with hardware driver development skills.
- Proficient in embedded OS (ucOS/RTOS/FreeRTOS/e Cos/Vx Works/Linux) development and solid knowledge in IDE, IAR/CCS/Keil
- Strong interest in physics and sensing technologies. Domain knowledge in one of the following areas: process automation (preferred), industrial applications, automotive, medical.
- Hands-on experience in with development tools like GIT, Azure DevOps, IDE, JIRA is a plus.
- Relevant experience in industrial product development processes and knowledge in safety critical industrial applications
