Position Details

Reports to: Project Manager

Work model: Onsite

Location: Qatar

Project: MOSE/Project Management

About the Role

In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as the technical lead for all engineering activities in assignments. Each day, you will ensure the activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are executed in an efficient and cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by acting as a design authority for a particular engineering discipline and completing the corresponding engineering assignments.

Responsibilities

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Collaborating on project installation, commissioning, and site activities, to clarify potential issues or provide solutions to rectify the engineering errors
• Coaching project engineers and designers on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, including modelling, prototyping, and calculations
• Leading, supervising, and coordinating teams (less than 10 members) in all engineering disciplines (both in-house and outsourced) on projects
• Applying design thinking or design for excellence concepts in projects, including modelling, prototyping, simulation, and calculations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
• Minimum 5 years of experience in motor projects / electrical modernization
• Certification in project management (PMP) is preferred
• Strong technical knowledge of electric motors, drives, and control systems
• Experience in modernization / service projects
• Good project management and coordination skills
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, datasheets, and specifications
