Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to take full leadership responsibility for the Power Reliability Business Line in Italy, covering automation and electrical solutions for Hydropower, excitation and synchronization solutions and services across all power generation sectors, as well as digital optimization solutions.

Each day, you will be responsible for defining and executing the business and go‑to‑market strategy, portfolio management, business development, marketing, pricing, and execution excellence. You will lead the organization to maximize portfolio performance, strengthen market leadership, and deliver sustainable growth and profitability in the Power Generation and Hydropower markets.

You will also showcase your leadership and business expertise by successfully implementing the Power Reliability strategy, driving organizational effectiveness, and ensuring customer satisfaction through high‑quality execution of projects and solutions.

The work model for the role is: #LI‑Hybrid

This role is contributing to the Power Reliability Business Line, within the Automation business in Italy.
Main stakeholders include customers, regional and global Business Line leadership, sales organizations, operations, supply chain, engineering, and project execution teams.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Designing and successfully implementing the Power Reliability business and portfolio strategy in Italy, ensuring achievement of performance targets aligned with global objectives.

  • Developing, managing, and promoting the portfolio of automation, electrical, excitation, and digital solutions to secure and strengthen market leadership in the Hydropower and Power Generation markets.

  • Defining and executing the portfolio roadmap, including solution and product streamlining, development initiatives, and identification of synergies across the business line.

  • Ensuring profitable business growth in the identified markets through effective go‑to‑market strategies, customer‑oriented value propositions, competitive execution models, and optimized production and supply chain footprints.

  • Driving excellence in execution of portfolio and business projects, ensuring delivery according to schedule, quality, financial targets, and customer satisfaction.

  • Building and maintaining strong long‑term relationships with internal and external customers to secure ongoing commitments and sustainable growth.

  • Leveraging regional and global Business Line competencies, resources, and footprints to deliver maximum value to customers and optimize operational performance.

  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring KPIs and performance metrics, and leading continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in leadership and management roles, preferably within industrial, energy, or power generation sectors.

  • Strong technical background and proven knowledge of automation and electrical products and solutions in the Hydropower and Power Generation domains.

  • Demonstrated experience in business strategy development, portfolio management, and go‑to‑market execution.

  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop multicultural, high‑performing teams within a complex matrix organization.

  • Strong customer‑focused mindset with a track record of building long‑term customer relationships (internal and external).

  • Fluency in Italian and excellent written and spoken English.

  • Knowledge of ABB products, services, processes, and industry standards is considered a strong advantage.
