Your role and responsibilities

In this role as a Software Architect , you will have the opportunity to initiate and drive technology, software, product, and solution development using in-depth technical expertise in industrial automation and full-stack software architecture. Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development (R&D) for in-depth product and technology-related issues within Distributed Control Systems (DCS). You will also showcase your expertise by supporting strategic corporate technology management and future product/software/solution architecture.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid

This role is contributing to the Process Control Platform (PCP) / Operations R&D division in India. Main stakeholders are Product Management, UX/UI teams, QA, DevOps, System Engineers, and global R&D teams.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Investing efforts into expanding competence portfolio beyond the area of specialization, assimilating developments in complementary technologies such as AI/ML, Edge Computing, Cloud, and IoT, and integrating learnings into daily activities.
• Managing major technology/engineering projects and product platforms of substantial impact, including Automation Vision DCS architecture and HMI/runtime systems.
• Anticipating and proactively proposing actions to mitigate possible quality problems in R&D projects through architectural reviews and best practices.
• Monitoring and working to secure and develop Intellectual Property (IP) within and beyond your area of expertise, contributing to patents and technical innovations based on understanding of IP strategies and competitor landscapes.

Qualifications for the role:

• As a Software Architect proficient in Full Stack application development.
• Mandatory usage for AI tools like Co-pilot and similar with proven track record for accelerated development.
• You are highly skilled in full-stack development technologies (React, JavaScript, TypeScript, .NET Core), microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and DevOps practices, and the industrial automation and control systems market.
• You have 12+ years of experience in software engineering, including 5+ years in architecture roles, preferably working as a Principal Engineer or Software Architect in DCS/SCADA or real-time systems environments.
• You possess enhanced knowledge of microservices, micro frontend architecture, event-driven and domain-driven design, high-availability systems, and security architecture.
• You are passionate about innovation, problem-solving, technical leadership, and collaboration, with strong stakeholder management and mentoring capabilities.
• You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s or PhD preferred).
