Senior Finance Master Data Governance Specialist:

Role :

We are seeking a Finance Master Data Governance Specialist to drive our Finance Master Data Governance processes. You will coordinate data requests, manage workflows, validate quality standards, and ensure seamless flow from request through implementation. This role offers excellent visibility across the finance organization, significant learning opportunities in data governance and SAP systems, and a clear pathway for career advancement.

This position will be based in Bangalore.

Key Tasks:

• Responsible for end-to-end execution of Finance Master Data Governance through Monthly Change Boards.
• Perform BAU activities related to the Chart of Accounts and related Finance Master Data within CFIN, including Chart of Accounts, Movement Types, FS Items, etc.
• Validate Master Data requests for accuracy, completeness, and governance compliance.
• Conduct impact analysis.
• Support end-to-end approval workflows by coordinating stakeholder inputs.
• Publish and communicate approved COA changes to relevant finance teams.
• Resolve ad-hoc COA and R2R issues across the finance organization.
• Coordinate validation, approvals, and implementation activities.
• Coordinate with Tax, Statutory, Controlling, Order to Cash (O2C), Procure to Pay (P2P), Plan to Deliver (P2D), FAO, and Treasury teams to align on COA requests.
• Create, update, and maintain process documentation and request templates.
• Liaise between requestors, SMEs, and approvers to resolve issues and ensure timely execution.
• Analyze GL accounts for automated postings, including various COA tables and integration points within Central Finance (CFIN).
• Liaise with the FPDS Team to ensure the required table-related and auto-postings-related changes in CFIN.
• Maintain regular communication with the FAO Master Data Governance (MDG) and MDG-F teams to ensure alignment and support.
• Address questions from various stakeholders, including Controlling, business units, and FAO.
• Lead the implementation of the new Master Data Publishing Platform to enhance the accessibility and usability of the Chart of Accounts.
• Execute and coordinate the COA harmonization tasks and related projects.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Master’s degree in finance, Accounting, or Business Administration. Professional education in Accounting and Finance (CA, CA-Intermediate) is preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, with a focus on general ledger accounting and finalization of accounts. Experience in the Manufacturing industry is preferred.
• Good understanding of R2R processes.
• Proven experience in a Shared Services or Finance Transformation environment is advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, particularly about the General Ledger and Chart of Accounts. Practical SAP experience, especially with Central Finance (CFIN).
• Very good understanding of key Finance Master Data elements, including COA. And Knowledge of Data Governance concepts.
• Familiarity with R2R processes and integrated finance systems.
• Ability to perform data validation, analysis, and workflow documentation.
